UF MCHERDC developed this interface to present data regarding the mother's pre-pregnancy Body Mass Index (BMI) for each of the indicators for children born in Florida. Definitions for pre-pregnancy BMI are calculated by the woman’s height and weight prior to pregnancy. There are four BMI classifications: Underweight, Normal, Overweight, and Obese (definitions for BMI categories are taken from the March of Dimes web-site: http://www.marchofdimes.com/professionals/15637.asp).

Weight Status BMI (kg/m2)

  • Underweight < 18.5
  • Normal Weight 18.5 – 24.9
  • Overweight 25.0 – 29.9
  • Obese ≥ 30.0

The tables below are organized into the following views:

  • Count of deliveries by BMI classification and Medicaid payor type, 2005-2007
  • Number and percentage of deliveries by BMI classification for each race category, 2007
  • Number and percentage of deliveris by BMI classification for each Medicaid payor type, 2006
  • Number and percentage of deliveris by BMI classification for each Medicaid payor type, 2007
  • Number and percentage of deliveris by BMI classification for each HMO, 2007

Please give the Interface a few seconds to initialize.
